چکیده

Recirculation technology has been emerging in the marine aquaculture industry. The microbiome developed recirculation systems (RASs) is an important factor for optimal operation of these and fish welfare. In this study, microbial community dynamics water column biofilms a RAS with Mediterranean species gilthead sea bream bass were investigated, while physicochemical conditions also monitored. Microbiological, culture, non-culture analyses based on PCR-Denaturing Gradient Gel Electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) fingerprints performed biofilm stainless-steel surfaces. According to obtained results, feed administration seemed cause changes pH TAN, as well drive bacterial abundance column. Tested surfaces colonized within 24 h sessile cells stabilized terms density 6 days. DGGE indicated stability dynamic succession biofilms. pathogen Tenacibaculum discolor was found colonize main findings confirmed that can be used control strategy community, there dominant communities, pathogenic bacteria latter.

Biomethanation and microbial community changes in a digester treating sludge from a brackish aquaculture recirculation system.

Using a high-salinity-adapted inoculum and a moderate stepwise-increased organic loading rate (OLR), a stable digester performance was achieved in treating sludge from a brackish aquaculture recirculation system. The specific methane yield was distinctly enhanced, reaching 0.203LCH4/gCODadded, compared to literature values (0.140-0.154LCH4/gCODadded) from the salty sludges. OLR adjustment and t...

Seasonal dynamics of bacterial community structure and composition in cold and hot drinking water derived from surface water reservoirs.

In temperate regions, seasonal variability of environmental factors affects the bacterial community in source water and finished drinking water. Therefore, the bacterial core community and its seasonal variability in cold and the respective hot drinking water was investigated. The bacterial core community was studied by 16S rRNA-based SSCP fingerprint analyses and band sequencing of DNA and RNA...

Dynamics of Bacterial Community Composition in the Malaria Mosquito's Epithelia

The Anopheles midgut hosts diverse bacterial communities and represents a complex ecosystem. Several evidences indicate that mosquito midgut microbiota interferes with malaria parasite transmission. However, the bacterial composition of salivary glands and ovaries, two other biologically important tissues, has not been described so far. In this study, we investigated the dynamics of the bacteri...

Developing WSN-based traceability system for recirculation aquaculture

Aquaculture has moving from conventional open systems to high density and highly productive land-based recirculation systems. Consumers increased consumption of fish and fish products due to recognition of their nutritional value along with social progress and the improvement of living standards. Traceability system is considered as an effective tool to guarantee safety in fish products and imp...

Dynamics of a Single Point Mooring Marine Aquaculture Cage as a Simple Vibrating System

The increasing world demand for fish cannot be met by capture fisheries. Aquaculture production is increasing and nowadays cage culture has an important role in meeting the world’s fish demand. The design of the physical structure of a cage is determined by the oceanographic conditions of the culture site. Each design is site-specific and knowledge of the topography, wind force and direct...
